The Vibration and Noise Control lab (VANClab) is the research lab of Prof. Jian Yang in the Department of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering at University of Nottingham Ningbo China. In VANClab, we conduct research in the area of linear and nonlinear vibrations, structural dynamics, and vibro-acoustics. Our work has been featured by a focus on the generation of energy-based modelling and analysis techniques for nonlinear systems and composite structures, as well as also on the development of novel linear and nonlinear vibration suppression devices.

The VANClab has been funded by the National Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Zhejiang Provincial NSF, Ningbo Municipal NSF and the industry via research projects led by Prof. Yang.
