Prof. Jian Yang is currently a full Professor in Mechanical Engineering (Dynamics and Control) and the Director of the International Academy of Marine Economy and Technology (IAMET) at University of Nottingham, Ningbo China (UNNC). He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a Fellow of the Advanced HE. Prof. Yang has been listed by Elsevier/Stanford University as a World's Top 2% Scientist in the area of acoustics in year 2023 and 2024. As of November 2024, his publications have received a citation of over 1600 and an h-index of 24 according to Google Scholar.
Prof. Yang has published over 80 peer-reviewed papers, including more than 60 SCI-indexed papers in leading academic journals. He serves as an editorial board member and subject editor of Nonlinear Dynamics journal (Springer) and Results in Engineering (Elsevier). Prof. Yang has been the principal investigator (PI) of over 10 externally funded projects, including 3 National Natural Science Foundation of China projects. Prof. Yang has supervised, as the lead supervisor at University of Nottingham, 7 PhD students to successful completion.
